Step 4
Once the application and transcripts have been received and reviewed, an appointment will be made for the student to spend the day at Hilltop with the students of his/her current grade level. A visitation cannot be scheduled until we have received a copy of the student's current transcripts directly from the school they are presently attending. Students applying for Grades 5-8 are required to spend two consecutive days at Hilltop. The hours for the visitation day(s) are from 8:15 a.m. until 2:55 p.m., and the student should bring a lunch, writing implements, and a notebook. Applicants for Grades 1-5 will be given a standardized reading and vocabulary test. Applicants for Grades 6-8 will complete a writing skills assessment. At some point during the school day, the student will be excused from class to meet with the Headmaster. Additional admissions testing may be conducted at the discretion of the Administration. Recommendations from an applicant's current Language Arts and Math teachers may be required as part of the admissions process.
Step 5
Once the school has reviewed the faculty reports from the student visitation, an appointment will be made for the student's parents to meet with the Headmaster and/or Assistant Headmaster. Whenever possible, the school requires both parents to attend this meeting.
Step 6
Admissions decisions will be mailed beginning on March 15, 2010 for families that have completed the application process by February 26, 2010. For families applying after February, admissions decisions are on a rolling basis.
