The Pre-K program at Hilltop Country Day School is designed to be a continuation of the child’s preschool educational experience for children who have reached four years of age and older. Our Pre-K program is focused on the development of school readiness skills. We believe that the Pre-K environment must allow children to grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially. Our environment is designed to offer children the opportunity to discover the excitement of learning. Through our multi-sensory approach and multi-sensory materials, we believe that each child can develop a positive sense of self. In addition, our program is built on the belief that children should show growth in personal abilities, problem solving skills, math and reading readiness skills, fine-motor and listening skills, self-expression and verbal language skills. Child directed work time is balanced with teacher directed lessons in both small and large groups.
