Hilltop’s PreSchool program provides a warm, nurturing environment to foster the academic, social and emotional growth of our students. While the best way to experience our program is through classroom visitation, the information below provides some basic information about PreSchool at Hilltop.
Enrichment classes, taught by specialized faculty in Vocal and Instrumental Music, Art and Art Appreciation, French, Physical Education and Library, are incorporated into the students' weekly schedule. These activities help students develop gross and fine motor skills, as well as an ability to listen, share and interact with one another.
Throughout our PreSchool curriculum, Hilltop's faculty create unique learning opportunities that are tailored to students' learning styles, individual needs and special interests. Each PreSchool day incorporates individual and group activities, as well as time for structured and free play to encourage creativity and socialization.
Hilltop offers flexible schedules to meet the needs of our families, including half-days, full days and complimentary before and after school care for our PreSchool students. Our rolling admissions policy for PreSchool allows students to join us when they are developmentally ready for school. Hilltop also offers a Summer Day Camp and other enrichment activities during June, July and August.
Hilltop Country Day School was founded in 1967, and our PreSchool faculty has an average tenure of sixteen years of teaching at our school. All of Hilltop's faculty are chosen for their warmth and responsiveness to children, as well as their academic background and teaching experience.
Parents are welcomed as essential participants in the education process, and the school's communication network provides regular insight into classroom activities and student development. There are many opportunities for parent involvement throughout the school, and there are regularly scheduled classroom visitations and celebrations.
