An important goal of the Second Grade program is to create life long learners who enjoy school and appreciate their individual ability. Each child’s specific learning styles, interests, and talents, are used as a springboard to help them embrace learning. The Second Grade program is designed to acknowledge children’s differences and encourage them to embrace their uniqueness. Because of this appreciation for individuality the curriculum is structured around the child, and not the child around the curriculum. Each academic area is taught in a manner that meets each child’s individual academic need. Experimentation and self-investigation are encouraged through a safe and warm learning environment.
