Sixth Grade places an emphasis on organization over long-term project work. Students strengthen their creative and expository writing skills through structured essays, journals and other writings. Sixth Grade math students review and extend their study of the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems involving whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers. The Sixth Grade science students are taught through "hands on" experimentation and discussion. Students additionally extend their foreign language study and begin to take part in a field PE program.
