Hilltop Country Day School has moved to remote learning like many schools in the country and is providing a blend of live and independent learning opportunities in a move that sets the school apart from others in the area. “Our teachers are online live twice a day with their grade levels not only to instruct, but to provide emotional support and social connections for the students,” said Laura McGee, head of school. “I’m so impressed at the quality of instruction that I’ve observed, this has gone far beyond packets that other schools have sent home!” exclaimed lower school parent. Specialists in technology, art and music are also providing instruction and enrichment opportunities which include virtual field trips to places near and far. “We’re not only providing instruction, but enrichment,” explained McGee, “and we’re opening up our afternoon enrichment to the public so anyone may join at this challenging time.” Hilltop’s parent portal lists daily events, and members of the public are welcome to join enrichment events in the afternoon hours by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
