A Message from the Head of School Regarding Covid-19

Dear Hilltop Community,

Belonging to a community is essential for social and emotional well-being. Even though the ways we gather, share, and celebrate may change Hilltop is dedicated to ensuring our academics, and core values endure. All returning and new students will continue to enjoy Hilltop’s traditions in 2020-2021 in a safe and responsible way. The faculty and I will be ready to welcome your children to Hilltop’s campus on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

Providing a safer and healthy learning environment for Hilltop is our highest priority and is guided by our mission. The Hilltop School has developed a re-entry strategy that recognizes that the school must remain flexible, not only to support the diverse needs of students and families but to be able to respond to the changing situations that continue to evolve due to COVID 19. This re- entry plan reflects our thinking as of late July. Our goal is to provide the very best educational experience possible for our students while also ensuring the health and safety of all members of the community. Hilltop is at its best when teachers can work as closely with students as possible therefore we have worked with peer educators, NAIS, CDC, AAP, local health agencies and the guidelines and mandates of NJ’s Governor to provide in-person instruction as well as enhanced remote instruction.

Today, I am pleased to share the plans and protocols for the 2020-2021 academic school year. Please click here to download a PDF of the plan.(updated on July 27)

I can’t wait to see you! I’ve missed having everyone on campus and I am looking forward to the start of the new school year.

Yours for Hilltop,

Laura McGee
