Joseph and Jill Sacco of Flanders enrolled their sons Joseph (prekindergarten) and James (preschool) at Hilltop for the 2016-17 school year.

Why did you choose Hilltop Country Day School for your child(ren)?

We really wanted a personalized learning environment for our son Joey, who is advanced in reading and other skills for his age. We didn’t think he was being challenged enough in his previous school. We decided to also enroll our 2.5 year old James – and it’s amazing how we have seen him grow over the last few months in terms of his speech and awareness to new things around him!

What do you love most about Hilltop Country Day School?

Being in technology, I love how the school is very forward thinking in terms of technology and how to incorporate digital aspects into learning. It’s SO important for us to be embracing technology and helping our children understand how to use it in POSITIVE ways.

What is one word that best describes the school? Please explain why you chose that word?

Innovative.

In what ways have you seen your child grow and develop as a result of their experience at Hilltop Country Day School?

All of the teachers and staff are really progressive in trying to make the school the BEST learning environment for the children. They are constantly engaging families, and focusing on how to keep children learning and thinking about things in new, exciting ways.

How did Hilltop compare to other schools that you considered for your child?

We considered a Montessori school in Mendham that we really liked – but this school was not preschool through eighth. Although we really liked the school, we were thinking longer term for our children’s education.

What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at Hilltop Country Day School?

Both my husband and I attended public school. We compare the experiences we had, and think about standardized education in comparison to Hilltop where they are customizing learning experiences for each child based on their abilities – we can already see the difference between previous schools and Hilltop, our children are flourishing!
